Life is...busy
May. 21st, 2008 04:29 pmI haven't posted much lately, mostly because I haven't felt like it and
count_gunthar posts often enough to keep everyone updated on what we're doing.
Work has been insanely busy since after Gulf War -- to the point that I often leave the office just exhausted from the stress. The one bright light in all of this is that my boss is putting me in for a promotion, although it may not happen until the end of this year because it involves a department and budget transfer. I'll just be happy to see if I get that mid-year bonus promised to me. And I should also not forget that I did get a new laptop that doesn't weigh a ton.
Steppes Warlord is this weekend and Gunthar and I are getting ready for it. His Laurel ceremony is during Saturday morning Court and the "recepti-vigil" that he is sharing with Sir Hrafn is Saturday night. I'll be stopping by the liquor store on the way home tonight to pick up necessary items for the House Porto Gargoyle spew and the white sangria. Then it's off to Wal-Mart once G gets home. Woo hoo.
I need a vacation. Seriously.

Date: 2008-05-22 06:16 pm (UTC)I'd be happy to just go to the mountains, find a cave and hide.
So we've been kicking around possibilities if I don't win Crown in July of where we'd like to relax.
Air travel is too bloody expensive and Texas is too hot to do much in August.
We had a hot tub at our cabin in the mountains over Christmas. Bathing suits?

Date: 2008-05-22 07:33 pm (UTC)But all of that will require flying and we will probably be avoiding that.
So if we drive to Colorado or New Mexico or something it will be leisurely and enjoyable. The trip and not the destination kind of thing.
Right now we will just be content to so somewhere and not have to wear funny clothes and actually have people do stuff for us.
