Fabric -- Squee!

The rest of the fabric I ordered came today. Yay! I'm going to commandeer the washer and dryer tonight and get [livejournal.com profile] count_gunthar's colors done tonight for sure. Now I just need to get the boxes of his kitchen stuff out of my project room (and presumably put away) so that I can start cutting.

The baby blanket is 90% finished. My sister's c-section is scheduled for February 21st, so we'll have an Ash Wednesday baby instead of a Mardi Gras baby.

I had a lot of fun helping out with the feast at Bryn Gwlad's Candlemas this past weekend. Mistress Gwyneth had the prep and kitchen well organized, which gave me a chance to sneak out of the kitchen every once in a while to see what was going on in the hall and visit a bit with friends. Gunthar had a good time, too, and we were both happy with how the feast came out. The food was really good and people at my table actually asked for seconds. The next day, Gwyneth gave me a little spice pot that had been given to her when she first started working on feasts. I was very touched by the gesture and almost cried in her living room.

Kingdom A&S is this weekend and I'm planning to attend, but I'm not entering anything this year. I'm going to provide support and assistance to my friends who are, and to get a chance to sit, sew and talk. Must remember to pack games for Gunthar!

I told John I want to go...but we'll see. I'll prolly show up on my own, but who knows!

I don't think I've met Gwyneth, but how wonderful of her to pass something like that to the next she feels deserves it!!

Glad you enjoyed yourself! Hope Gunthar gets to feeling better. I'll be going over to Amaliea's Thursday to sew a parti color dress for myself so that I can learn how to do it on my own.

got done at the dentist today, but will post with all of that in a bit

If John poops out on you and doesn't want to go to A&S, let me know. I don't think Gunthar's all that committed to going -- he just doesn't want me driving to Tyler by myself. You don't live that far from me, so we could ride together.

Sort of an odd question but is the Gwyneth of your post Gwyneth Blackrose? I hadn't known they'd left the Greywood area. I had heard she'd made Laurel and am delighted to hear she's still as enthusiastic about period cooking.

I used to play SCA with them a million years ago when Arthur rode. (Long enough that I'm actually having to try to remember where Bryn Gwlad is. Austin? I think?) I found your post through friendsfriends and was just wondering how small the world really was.

We are indeed speaking of the same Gwyneth. She and her family live just north of Austin in Leander. Gwyneth is currently MOAS for the Kingdom, but she's about to step down for a worthy successor.

It's nice to know they are doing well. I've not thought of them in years.

Thank you.
