Gunthar is officially moving out of his apartment this week and into mine, although technically he's been living with me for a month. We'll pack up the rest of the kitchen and the bathroom tonight, take a few miscellaneous items back to my -- make that our -- place, and move the small amount of furniture and boxes going back to Barbara (i.e. into storage) into a central area so that we can clean a bit on Saturday. The actual moving will be on Sunday, because that's the day Barbara's storage unit company can loan her their truck. In exchange for the help, Gunthar and I will feed everyone. (Yes, Jimi, you'll be fed, too. I certainly couldn't handle driving that truck!)
Next week should be much calmer and I can get started on my sewing projects for Gulf War. I don't really need any new garb at the moment, but Gunthar is in desperate need of new fighting surcoats. His current ones are almost embarrassingly ratty. The purple and white trgger that I got a good deal for online should arrive around Tuesday. Still looking for an applique pattern of a scalloped shell and a ferret, but I may end up having my wonderfully talented baby sister draw a ferret silhouette for me. She's the one who inherited my mother's artistic abilities -- I can only draw stick figures. And she'll have time now that she's been put on bedrest for the next three weeks until her OB/GYN feels the baby can safely be delivered.
Speaking of babies, or that one in particular, I am frantically trying to finish the baby blanket for my anticipated new niece; preferably before she's born. The crew at work has once again gotten used to seeing me in my office at lunch, crocheting away while I read or listen to music. If I keep up my current pace, I could be finished next week. I'm half way there.
Other projects in the planning stage: an Italian ren gown for me, a padded gambeson for Gunthar to wear under the breastplate he wants to buy, and to actually finish the formal favor I've been working on for him. With six weeks to Gulf War, I hope I can get everything but my gown finished by then.

Date: 2007-01-26 07:00 pm (UTC)My mom still hasn't finished the baby quilt she is making for my sister's son, and he's 2 months old! *lol* My sister said that she'll be happy to get it by the time he's into a twin sized bed! HA! (it'll fit a twin, but were hoping to have it when he was born) Let's just say mom isn't the best at managing her time *lol*

You don't need to make me a favor. Your smile is the only inspiration I need.
