I will be the first to admit that I'm not a big person. At just a smidgen over 5 feet and 115 lbs., I am petite. However, I never considered myself kite material until this morning.
There is a breezeway between the parking garage and the building where I work. In the six years that my company has been in this building, there has been considerable controversy over the design of this breezeway and the difficulties encountered when it is particularly windy outside. And it can get very windy in North Texas, since we are on the edge of the grasslands. Today is one of those days. And this morning, as I was walking in said breezeway, I was nearly blown into the shrubbery by a very long and strong gust of wind. I managed to stay on my feet despite the heels I'm wearing and made it to the door, where a very nice, much larger person, was holding it open for me so I could get in. I only mention that in that the building also has a double set of doors at this entrance -- one exterior and one interior. The wind can create a vacuum effect between the two, as evidenced by the night I nearly had to call security to get out of the building because I couldn't get the interior doors open. I believe I looked like a bird crashing into a window over and over again, trying to get out until someone else who was leaving showed up and helped me push it open. It was pathetic.
Yes, you're allowed to laugh.
count_gunthar already has.
