The. Move. Is. Over.
Nov. 6th, 2006 04:22 pmDear God, how did I manage to gather so much crap in one third floor apartment and then think it would be easy to move it to another?!! After a week of packing and hauling several non-packed loads, six hours with two moving guys, and the foresight to hire a cleaning service instead of killing myself to get it done, I am finally in my new apartment. Mille bises to
count_gunthar for his patience, motivation, and the ability to be downright pushy when I needed it. The moving guys dropped my dining table and scratched the top of it, but I've already been told by the moving company to expect a phone call this week from a refinisher at their expense. Bad luck, but it could have been worse; they could have dropped it and broken it into pieces.
I love my new place. It's almost like having a small house in the way it's set up and I feel a bit like I'm in a penthouse with multiple views. Certainly a change from my other apartment, which only had windows facing north and was crammed up against the next building in the complex. The only downside is the lack of a built in microwave...oh, and the sprayer for the kitchen sink (although Gunthar has a very bad suggestion on how I can get one). Doing a happy dance that the only room left to unpack is my project room.
The move was made even more difficult by the fact that I now officially have bronchitis. I've been sick for a month with this and my doctor is pissed that I didn't come in earlier. No camping for me at the Roses tournament this weekend -- an edict brought down by both my doctor AND Gunthar.
At home now, dosed up with antibiotics, cough tablets, my asthma medicine and some decongestant. And the project room awaits...
