Many, many moons ago, I played D&D with my other geeky friends in high school and my freshman year in college. Then I married a man who had no appreciation for role-playing games and moved me to another state (away from said geeky friends) and I gave up my gaming. I'll admit that I played single-player games like Myst on occasion, but it wasn't the same.

Flash to present day. Having dumped the non-gaming, "not interested in any of your silly hobbies, dear", soon to be ex-husband, I now have a boyfriend who has re-introduced me to the world of role-playing games via World of Warcraft. To me, being able to play online with my friends or complete strangers is like D&D on steroids. Now I find myself obsessed with increasing the levels of my characters on WoW, hoping someday to be able to join the other members of my guild on quests without the threat of being killed every three minutes. Hello geekdom, I missed you.

You've created a little monster, [livejournal.com profile] count_gunthar. I hope you're happy.

Since I've met you? Yes, I'm very happy.

Besides, how many guys have a girlfriend who is gorgeous, sexy, successful, not-psycho, likes anime and weird movies, is a great cook, and plays videogames. You are a geeks dream!

And I still ain't good enough for you. But I'll try to keep you fooled.

We play on Malfurion. Having seen some references to WoW on your LJ, I thought you might appreciate this post!

*grin* I certainly do. Himself and I share an account, and we both play probally 2-3 times a week. It makes for a lovely break from studying, and I love ALL the different things you can do.

My main character is a gnomish warrior. I can't wait to get her to level 43 so I can wear the pirate hat a friend made for her. ;) (I have a long way to go - I just hit 17. *grin*)

Like everything else - it's a ton of fun. But in moderation, because it CAN get addictive. :)

Well, thank God I can't play WoW at work because I'm playing at least 2-3 nights a week! I have two characters I'm developing, an undead rogue at level 10 and a troll hunter at level 12. I still can't decide which one I like best, although the fact the troll can have a pet is very intriguing!
