Here we go again...
Crown Tournament is on Saturday, so we'll be driving up to Oklahoma tomorrow. With gas prices what they are, we've been carpooling a lot with
count_gunthar's squire and his lady, plus a few others, and I find that I don't mind it a bit. It makes the trip go faster and requires us to be amazingly efficient in our packing. This trip, we'll be riding up with Alejandro, Amalia and Baroness Alys -- and carting so much crap we'll need to use Alejandro's trailer.
I am more nervous about this tournament than I have ever been. And it's not that I'm scared Gunthar will come in second again, I'm scared he WILL win this one. He's better prepared than for previous tournaments, he's got the right mindset, we have a good support group and the timing is just...good. Even my boss was supportive when the subject came up during a project planning discussion -- he pledged to make sure that nothing would interfere with my weekends unless it was an emergency and we potentially have some large projects for the Fall. And if Gunthar wins, I get to go play princess with
alethea_eastrid, which would be very, very cool.
Most of my nervousness stems from the fact that we are basically in limbo until Saturday night. And the obsessive/compulsive planner in me is screaming bloody murder. We have no idea if we will be going to Pennsic in a week or on a personal vacation. Next week will either be a flurry of activity getting ready for Pennsic or a scramble to see where we can reasonably fly to on short notice that won't cost us a fortune. Gunthar says it's a win'win situation either way. At least one of us is looking on the positive side.
On top of everything, I'm up for a Kingdom office. I know that they are holding off on a final decision until the outcome of Crown Tournament because of the high probability that Gunthar could win this one. So I could potentially end up with something win or lose following the tournament. Personally, I think I want the shiny hat more than the office.
Sigh. The anticipation and wait are killing me.

If I can help, let me know. You sound like you've got a good support group, but I'll help where I can. (Getting ready for Queen's starts in the morning.)
