OMG...It's a Post!
Jul. 15th, 2008 02:18 pmI cannot believe it has been a month and a half since my last post. Oh wait, yes I can.
Work continues to be incredibly busy and I've been traveling a few times a month for the last few. In fact, I'm leaving for San Jose in the morning. The flights are so incredibly booked that I am taking an extra change of clothes in the event I fly home Friday morning instead of Thursday night. I'll take a voucher for my trouble and
count_gunthar won't have to pick me up after midnight that night.
We managed a long weekend in New Orleans last month to see my parents and celebrate Dad's 70th birthday. Gunthar was ecstatic over our dinner at Restaurant August (which he posted about in detail) and I was just slightly worried that he'd go all fangirl on me if John Besh actually made an appearance -- which he didn't. We had typical New Orleans weather and got rained on while we walked around the French Quarter, which caused me not to get beignets at Cafe du Monde. Major pout on that. But we had fun anyway.
The family reunion for my Dad's family is this weekend, so we'll be getting up at some ungodly hour Saturday morning to drive to DeRidder, LA for a couple of hours. The number of family present gets smaller and smaller every year -- Dad and his siblings and cousins continue to age and the members of my generation are just too busy to attend. When I was a child, we would have upwards of 100 people there. Now I'm lucky if 20 show up.
And it's hot. I hate Texas in the summer.

give it to me at least 3 days before Crown. So it's nice and fresh for crown.
I also want to talk to you about garb for crown. But I can talk to you when you get back. Take you to dinner next week?

Date: 2008-07-15 11:08 pm (UTC)And yes, let's do dinner Tuesday. Hell, even if he doesn't, he can come along to dinner, too :)
John might not join us, he's on deadline, but we'll see. I'll email you or call Monday for us to finalize and figure out where we want to go to eat.
