countessmouseI don't make it a habit of posting about the tattered remains of my life prior to August 2005, but I'm feeling the need to vent. After ducking the process server and forcing me to hire a professional one, and three days before his final deadline to respond to the summons (whereby if he didn't I could go to court without him), the soon-to-be ex-husband finally took his flipping head out of the sand and retained a lawyer. While part of me is strangely glad that he's actually taking responsibility for himself, which he never managed to do during 20+ years of marriage, the timing sucks. This has been dragging on for 2 years and I was really hopeful it would be over by the end of the month. If could be, though, if he and his attorney are cooperative. I'm not asking for any more than I'm entited to in a community property state. If he continues to be a jerk about it and slows down the process, I'll bring out the alimony and family trust ammo.
On a health note, I am feeling MUCH better today. Still coughing a little, but I think both Gunthar and I managed a full nights' sleep without me waking up hacking.
