countessmouseOn a business trip and waiting to meet with someone so I can finish what I'm working on, so I thought I'd be a sheep and do this meme:
1. Mundane Name: April Page
2. Mundane Job: Transaction paralegal for a healthcare corporation
3. Persona Name: Elizabeth Seale
4. How did you come up with your name? Seale is a family name from my mother's side and I personally find their history and how they ended up in the States interesting. Elizabeth is just a common name for the daughters of that line.
5. Where and when did your personal live? 14th - 15th c. England, particularly in the counties of Leicester and Derbyshire. Currently, she resides in Wales with the Count who won her heart.
6. What is your Known World location? Barony of the Steppes, Kingdom of Ansteorra
7. What Kingdom do you consider to be your home? Ansteorra -- duh!
8. How long have you played? About a year and a half.
9. How did you get started? I wanted to contact others doing my craft, so I got in touch with the Steppes' Hospitaler and attended the next newcomer's meeting. It sort of snowballed from there.
10. Why did you join? See response for #9 above.
11. Have you registered a name? It's in process as we speak.
12. Have you registered a device? It's in process as well.
13. What awards have you been granted? AoA
14. How many evens do you attend each year? More than 20. It's hard to keep count.
15. What is the best event you have ever been to? Pennsic last year. I had a blast and I'm so looking forward to our trip to Pennsic this year. We leave on Saturday.
16. What is the worst event you have ever been to? I hate to say it, but Crown Tournament this past Spring. The event itself was marred by truly horrible weather, which downscaled everything and diminished it. And I have never been so cold in my life.
17. What event do you make it to every year. Steppes Warlord, mostly because I'm working it. It is a fun event, however.
18. What event do you refuse to go to? Anything completely outdoors in the summer in Texas. If there is no place to go to escape the heat, then I won't be there.
19. Who is your favorite person to hand at an event with? That would be my lord, Count Gunthar Jonsson. Close second, HE Katheryn, Baroness of the Steppes.
20. What activities do you participate in? Well, if it's just me and Gunthar at an event, you'd most likely find us in the kitchen. I'm also Head of Entourage for the Baroness Steppes, so I spend a great deal of time with her as well. I dabble in various forms of embellishments on the A&S side, and I am Central Regional Hospitaler for Ansteorra. Gunthar says I volunteer too much.
21. What activity would you like to learn? Too many to mention. I think I have A&S ADD.
22. Are you a marshal? No.
23. How many tents have you destroyed at events? None.
24. Has your garb ever caught on fire? Almost. It's an occupational hazard for outdoor cookery.
25. Have you ever woken up in a strange person's tent. No.
26. Do you have a pavilion? Yes! Gunthar and I are very proud of our 16x16 Regent.
27. Are you a peer? No, but I live with one.
28. Do you ever want to be a peer? Maybe one day. I feel like a bit of a child at this point and think I need to "grow up" in the SCA before I become one.
29. Is it a coincidence at peer rhymes with beer? In most cases, yes. In others...
30. Are you a squire, apprentice or protege? Not yet.
31. Who would you like to be squired, apprenticed or protege'd to? I think I'll keep that private for now.
32. What is your war cry?"Dinner is served!"
33. Have you ever been pulled off he field for your safety? No, I'm smart enough to stay off of it when there is fighting going on. That's Gunthar's realm.
34. What is the funniest thing to happen to you in armor? Nothing, since I don't wear any, unless you count the time I tried to carry Gunthar's armor bag (which weighs at least half what I do).
35. Have you read Corpora? Bits and pieces, but not in its entirety (yet).
36. Circlets, how do you feel? I have two and I wear them when I feel like it.
37. What household(s) do you belong to? House Porto, by proxy. I'm not an actual member.
38. If you could change one thing about the SCA, what would it be? To have certain members stop scaring off newcomers.
39. What is your favorite part of the SCA? Hanging out with my friends who have similar interests to mine.
