It's been a while
The craziness that has been my life since mid-December will, I hope, start to slow down for a bit after King's Round Table this weekend. Here's a quick overview of the last few weeks:
- The New Year came in sort of quietly for us. Just a quiet celebration at home on New Year's Eve (yes, we at least stayed awake until after midnight) and spent New Year's Day making frumenty and makke. Forgot our black-eyed peas, though.
- Gunthar and I survived 12th Night Feast. Cooked for 160-170 and ended up feeding only 130 due to some miscommunication by others on the baronial lists about the availability of feast. Still, we had a great turnout of help in the kitchen and everyone who ate left full and happy. Received my baronial service award -- an acorn -- but the title of biggest nut in the barony is now currently held by Lord Damon.
- Dragged Gunthar to Coronation to see HL Elin's elevation to Laurel. My concept for her vigil pavilion turned out surprisingly well and Baroness Alys did a wonderful job with her Swedish-themed vigil buffet. I think Elin was very happy with the set-up. Missed most of the step-down and step-up courts because of vigil duties, but had a nice chat with Her Majesty while she was still the Princess.
- Down with a stomach virus the first part of this week. Today is the first day I don't feel like someone took a baseball bat to me.
Gunthar is busy preparing for Kingdom A&S next month. I'd like to get finished on some of my blackwork projects, some of which I will have to start completely over since I lost my sewing bag at Coronation. Had to replace my Gingher embroidery scissors -- bah!
