Tomorrow, I drive down to New Orleans to spend Thanksgiving with my family. Gunthar can't go with me because he has to work, so I will be making the seven and a half hour drive by myself. I've done it before, but it's a long trip to do by myself. I'll be powering up the iPod tonight.

While I love my family, there are about a dozen reasons I live 500 miles away from them. Individually, they're fine -- together as a group, they're a case study in dysfunctionality. Part of me is glad Gunthar isn't going with me, because I worry that he'll just run out of the house screaming at some point. Hell, I may even do that myself. To make matters worse, my Dad, who is my tether to sanity amidst all the turmoil, will be leaving to go on an annual hunting trip late Thursday afternoon. Gunthar seems pretty confident that I'll be home sometime Saturday evening, to the point he's willing to bet money on it. Pray for me.

On the way, I may stop by the casino in Shreveport for some pre-holiday therapy. Papa needs a new set of leg armor and the fun funds are getting low.
