What a week
Nov. 16th, 2007 03:04 pmSigh. It's been one of those weeks and the issues have run from PMS to the carpet cleaners not showing up. I had drafted a major rant the other day and you'll thank me for sparing you by deciding not to post it. Suffice it to say, a former employee has created a situation with a recent transaction that basically amounts to tortious interference and has, in an effort to cover his butt, laid the blame at my feet, claiming that I provided him the means (a letter he says I drafted) and the instructions to do so (an e-mail he can't seem to locate). My boss and my team are backing me up on this and the burden is on the new operating company to provide proof of his claims, but I am livid that my integrity has been placed in question. I feel a little vindicated in that the letter just plain doesn't look right, has no legal language, and isn't in my writing style. It also helps that it's well known that I am rather anal about saving all e-mail communications I receive or send on a transaction and the e-mail he claims I sent is not in the saved network file (surprise, surprise).
This weekend, instead of heading down to Houston to spend time with friends and go to TRF, we will be heading down to the wilds of East Texas for a Crown Tournament redo. The now former Heirs announced two weeks ago that they would not be able to step up to the throne in January, so the tournament needs to be refought. It will be held on Sunday, at the end of Bordermarch Autum Melees, so we're not driving down until tomorrow morning. Gunthar and I are trying not to stress about it.
On a good note, a friend has constructed a desktop computer for me to replace the laptop that was stolen and I get to pick it up tonight. Now Gunthar can have his computer all to himself again.
