Happy Dance
Feb. 12th, 2007 11:04 amI had a great weekend. So good, in fact, that a rainy Monday morning isn't bad at all because I'm still on a buzz of good vibes. No, I'm not high. I'm just happy. ;)
Saturday I drove to Kingdom A&S with Lady Katheryn, who is one of the Steppes' candidates for Baroness. We had a good long talk for the first time in months and she shared with me her ideas for the Barony -- all of which are very positive. Katheryn also encouraged me to think about activating the Barony's inactive embroidery guild, or try to combine several of them into a Fiber Arts guild to push up attendance at meetings. I've got some ideas under consideration and will probably post more on that later. The event itself was fun. I spent the day oohing and aahing over the entries, talking with friends and making buttons. Gunthar stayed home and did "guy" things -- which probably equated to sitting around in his underwear and playing WoW all day, but he kind of needed that.
On Sunday, we slept late, had cinnamon rolls for breakfast and hung out in the apartment until we got hungry again. Gunthar took me to my favorite hole-in-the-wall mexican restaurant for lunch and then we stopped by World Market to look at the wine selection. It was a Francis Ford Coppola kind of day -- we left with his Classic blend (zin/syrah/cab), another bottle of the Pinot Grigio we love, and two bottles of the Claret (Cabernet blend) that I fell in love with at Fogo de Chao. Finding the Claret was a real coup -- I was certain I'd be looking online for the stuff. Next, we stopped at a place on Oaklawn that offers wine, coffee, and chocolate all in one pretty package. And because he spoils me, Gunthar spent nearly $13.00 to buy me a small (but good) latte and three little pieces of the best chocolate I've had outside of Brussels. It was very frou-frou and he was very sweet to indulge me. Then we headed off to drool over houses in the Lakewood area and finished off at a really good comic book store on Mockingbird Lane. We headed home, where my precious guy set Dresden Files and Battlestar Galactica to tape so I could lose myself in WoW until I couldn't keep my eyes open. Then there was bedtime...
