Jun. 4th, 2006 05:49 pmNote to self -- do not schedule business travel the week after a huge SCA event. Period.
Honestly, Warlord XXXIII (I only know this off the top of my head because I WROTE it on the back of 300+ site tokens) was a blast, despite my penchant for "over-volunteering". Working gate was a lot of fun, even more so with Philip, Elin, Joscelyn and Lady Hanna. I did learn to avoid the showers when the autocrat is around -- 'cause you end up volunteering for more than you signed up for (just kidding, Mistress Serena!). Seriously, I enjoyed being "assistant list mistress" with Lady Maeva, even with our little snafu at the beginning of the rapier parings. I left Sunday night exhausted and happy. That's a good thing.
The closing this week was scarily benign -- which is why I think I took that facer in the wee hours of Wednesday morning into an upholstered arm of a chair in my hotel room. It was karma...I had to scrape the skin off of half my chin in order for everyone to behave themselves. By Thursday, my chin looked so bad I hightailed it to my dermatologist, who reassured me that I hadn't scarred myself. The scab finally came off on Friday and it now looks like I have a highly concentrated sunburn. Still hurts a bit, but I don't look like a leper.
This weekend was for recuperating and finally cleaning my apartment for the first time in a month. What a mess of threads and fabric bits!
