Update -- It's Good News (so far)

Talked with my Mom this morning. The three biopsies on Grandma's tumor and surrounding tissue came back negative for cancerous cells. The doctors are still concerned about the mass and would like to perform one more set of biopsies later this week to make sure the results were correct. If it's just a benign mass, they'll remove it via laparoscopic surgery and leave her kidney. It will still mean a hospital stay of a few days for her, but much, much better than the alternative. Gunthar and I will hold off making the trip to New Orleans until her surgery is scheduled -- maybe late next week.

King's College was fun and Gunthar's class went well, but I am still dealing with heat rash issues on my neck and legs. No make-up until the stuff on my neck subsides because everything is irritating it (powder, clothing, perfume, etc.). I just hope the steroid cream will work without having to make a visit to the dermatologist. When did my skin get so sensitive to everything? Granted, I'm pretty fair skinned and sometimes prone to a little rosacea, but it's getting kind of ridiculous.

Although July is going to be a busy month (for me, at least), Pennsic planning is starting. Gunthar and I need to evaluate what we're taking and see if there are any items that need to be replaced or added. I'm taking stock of the garb to see what needs to be made between now and then -- probably a couple of tunics for both of us and I definitely want to get with Amalia to work on a more casual Italian Ren to wear and to make a couple of linen cotes for Gunthar.

Definitely looking forward to the quiet, non-traveling weekend coming up!
